Gameplay Tips
Important: NEVER log in to someone else town on your device or you will end up with THEIR town instead of yours. The game operates as 1 town per 1 device. If you decide to try to sync multiple devices, be sure to find out if the two are compatible and follow Playrix recommendations for your devices.
Basic Tips
- There is no one "right" way to play. At various times in your Town's development you will have different priorities so adjust accordingly as you grow. This information should help you choose what to prioritize and when for the best results. When you have questions, make use of the Playrix help guide (also available in-game) as well as the Township Wiki before asking other players who may or may not have the best information available.
- Routinely take photos of your Level, T-Cash, and any purchase receipts; if you are ever falsely banned for cheating, you will need these to get quickly cleared. Keep a screenshot of your friend code, too (Click Invite on your Friends tab to reveal your Friend code).
- Make lots of friends. Actively help them so they will want to help you in return. If you find that a friend is not active, remove them to make room for more. (Hint: Blue friends are in-game friends and you can have up to 50. Besides Ernie, anyone with a tan friend card is through Facebook and there's a 300 person limit on those).
- Always request help on your trains and planes; getting help and taking some time to fill the crates tells the game algorithm's not to make your next vehicle too complicated.
- Buy all three trains as soon as possible and be sure to send them off regularly as they bring you essential building and mining supplies.
- Make a habit of preparing for your planes as soon as you know what they want to order. Planes provide gems, building tools, and other helpful rewards.
- Keep reading below for more important and helpful information.

Regatta Prep and Practices
Below you'll find suggestions to help you prepare for the Regatta. Keeping every item prepped and ready to go for Regatta can seriously slow down your town, so don't feel like you have to be ready for every task all the time.
Below you'll find suggestions to help you prepare for the Regatta. Keeping every item prepped and ready to go for Regatta can seriously slow down your town, so don't feel like you have to be ready for every task all the time.
- Always check the time on a task before selecting it. Set an alarm on your device to warn you before that time expires so you don't miss the task deadline.
- Choose the fastest task on the board that you have prepped for and complete that first (e.g. House of Luck, Mining, Animal Feeding, Animal Collection).
- Prep a bunch of Hot Items for the Zoo while you’re growing crops for another task.
- Keep your feed mills going to be prepared for animals.
- If you have 3 feeders, we recommend 1 each devoted to cows and chickens and the third to cycle through the other three feed types (that are needed less frequently and take longer to produce).
- Save all of your mining supplies for mining tasks.
- There's no set amount of supplies that will guarantee mining 58 ore as a great deal depends on luck and sometimes you can get by with relatively few supplies. However, storing a hundred or so picks plus a few dynamite and TNT should be sufficient for one task (or lots of dynamite and TNT and fewer picks). If you're able to make use of the See the Light booster, you will be able to mine more with less equipment.
- Save up clovers. An easy 30 clovers will instantly complete the 135 point HOL task. Your Town Hall can hold up to 100 and the House of Luck will hold up to 50. Keep an eye on them and collect and play occasionally between regatta tasks so that you don't miss out on any potential clovers when your storage gets full.
- Manage your crop cycle so that at some point in the race, you can take a growing task.
- Fill all your trains (careful, the last crate sends it automatically!), planes, and/or helicopters prior to grabbing one of those tasks.
- The following are items that can be prepared and on your shelves before the Regatta starts. Of course, the tasks aren't guaranteed, but it can significantly reduce the amount of time it takes to complete a factory task. We recommend always keeping 1-2 shelves free so you can replenish your stores or produce for other tasks (e.g. plane, train, heli).

Production/Filling Orders
- Everything active that requires time in the game can be tapped on for additional information, e.g. feeding animals, growing crops, and waiting trains.
- Set a timer on your device to remind you when it’s time to check in on your tasks (or crops, animals, factories, trains, planes, etc).
- Consider taking a longer crop-growing task (like Cacao, Rubber, Silk, etc) when you take your longest breaks from the game such as while sleeping or over a long work shift.
- Your primary factories (feed mills, bakery, dairy, sugar) should always be working to create the “building block” products for other factories. It’s generally a good idea to keep all of your animals, fields, and factories producing, but before starting them, consider what needs to be made for your current goals and tasks otherwise you will have too many time-consuming products going to get what you actually need for a task or other goal.
- The 15 hour deadline for airplane cargo begins with you re-entering your game.
- Dismiss helicopters if the items are going to take too long or if the coins/XP seem too low… unless you just want an easy fill for a regatta helicopter task.
- When completing helicopter orders in a hurry, send the order then go to Ernie (or a friend’s) town and come immediately back to yours. Your helicopter will be back and you can send it off again.

Town Construction, Design, and Upgrades
- Build one community building at a time. Trains seem more likely to give you barn upgrade tools when you don't have any community buildings under construction. You can see the supplies needed for each building here on the Township Wiki. There is also a strategy for getting the supplies you need.
- Avoid going too heavy on the decorations for awhile and focus your resources on expansions, upgrades, and essential buildings. Space is one of your valuable resources so don't bite off more than you can chew.
- The Zoo is a ton of work and resources so if you’re still getting your sea-legs in regattas and in Township in general, put off building your Zoo. It's largely intended to entertain higher level players who have the extra resources to spare.
- Wherever your town sign is located is where visitors will land first. You may place it wherever, though many like to keep it near their train and plane stations to encourage helpers.
- Upgrade your trains to level 21 and basic factories to level 9 (Feed Mill, Bakery, Dairy, Sugar, etc) as these will be your most frequently used. Your islands should be next as they will help you get more island goods and complete regatta ship tasks faster. Only make the ingots you need for each upgrade to save on barn space (ore is stored in the warehouse before it becomes an ingot).
- Keep your Airport near your Train Station — when players stop by to help, they will be able to easily determine if your other building also needs assistance!
- You aren’t required to build everything the game offers. Once built, community buildings can’t be sold or stored, so consider this before building.
- Save time moving around your town by placing your factories like production lines in production clusters so that a product needed for one thing is next to another.
- Most players find that the Mint and Jewelry store are a waste of space and don’t earn their worth as ingots are more highly needed elsewhere. If you purchase either, it is recommended you do so because you like the building for your town. However, if you already have the Jewelry store, upgrade the XP for it and keep upgrading until you reach 100%. Every time you buy jewelry from Raja and sell it to the Mafia guy, the very large amounts of XP you will earn help you to Level up faster.
Storage
- There is some debate in the forums, but it is generally recommended that you keep no more than 10 additional for each Barn-upgrade item (e.g. it requires 20 nails, but you have 35, so you keep 30 and sell the 5 surplus). This is supposed to encourage the game’s algorithms to send you more of another resource. Remember, though, to keep the barn and expansion tools you need – don’t ever sell all your barn or expansion tools.
- Check which ingots you need for your next upgrade and just make those so your barn storage isn’t used to hold ingots indefinitely (ore, on the other hand, can accumulate nicely in the warehouse).
- Be a helpful player! Not only will you make more friends, you will earn coins, XP, and clovers while making storage space in your barn. (Remember that while any random visit to the House of Luck to use your clovers might not give you something amazing, overall you are earning “free” rewards and sometimes they are quite significant in value!)

Raja the Dealer at the City Market
- Buying boxes at the Market with T-Cash is highly recommended as they are permanent after purchase. The more boxes you have, the fewer items you have to produce.
- When hiring the Dealer, hire him for the lowest amount of time (1 day) first. Once that expires, he'll offer you 20% off his services. Use that to hire him for 10 days for 71 T-cash instead of 90.
- The Dealer can be of great help and is usually worth the T-cash, especially if you use him to buy:
- Products to fill orders, planes, trains, help Co-op members, etc
- Rings and the other jewelry can be sold in helicopter orders to the mafia character for T-Cash (and essentially make the cost of the dealer back!)
- Hot products at your zoo really help you expand it quickly which brings in coins, popularity, XP, building supplies so you can get extra baskets to make hot product Regatta tasks very easy.
- If you need nothing else, get ore from the dealer then make only the necessary ingots for each upgrade goal you have. This in turn will help you speed up production, make trains and ships come quicker. This is much better and permanent compared to paying to speed up a single product which is very expensive and one off
- If you don’t like what he offers you at first search, you can make him try again. To do so, you must search for an alternative item, dismiss that, then start a new search for the goods you need and you will find that a new number appears. It may take several searches to obtain the minimum quantity you really require but it can be useful in times of crisis and save time and angst. Once you get the amount you want, you can search for that same item again the next hour (when Raja comes back) and the same number will be offered to you again — but only in consecutive purchases/searches. Keep in mind there are limits to what he can bring you, depending on the item:
- Regular Items
- 9 is the usual max for most items.
- 12 is the max for low-cost items, such as bagels, burgers, sugar, as well as all animal products and crops.
- 5 is the max for island goods.
- 3 is the max for jewelry.
- Mining Tools
- 5 is also the max for dynamite and TNT for the mine.
- 9 is the max for platinum and gold ore.
- 13 is the max for silver and copper ore.
- 15 is the max for the pick axe for the mine.
- Regular Items

T-Cash
Credit: The above tips were largely acquired with thanks to this thread on the Township forums.
- Go into Additional Settings and select confirmation on using cash so you reduce the times you click and buy something with T-Cash by mistake.
- Save your T-cash for boxes in your factories, especially the Feed Mills, Bakery, Dairy, Sugar, Paper, and Rubber. Avoid using T-Cash just to speed something up like a train or production. The added value is small and impermanent. There might occasionally be exceptions where something is time-critical, but with a little planning, generally not.
- Only open the free chests and balloons. Ignore those that you have to pay to open as the net gain is often minimal to negative.
- Check the Achievements at the town hall and actively go for the easy ones to get T-cash rewards.
- Focus your T-cash on permanent improvements like slots in your factories, to enlist the services of Raja the Dealer, or for boxes at your market that are there for good once purchased. Once you have a large market, helping others, filling orders, filling planes/trains becomes very easy for turnaround times even if the dealer does not provide just enough of a vital commodity to fill a vital order.
- If you use Raja the Dealer to get rings and the other jewelry, you can sell that in helicopter orders to increase T-cash.
- “Watch” all the videos you can (if you get them) and don’t delete any. You can press it and then walk off but regularly deleting seems to affect the number you get. Purchasing T-cash with real money seems to reduce and/or eliminate the video options.
- Be a helpful player! Not only will you make more friends, you will earn coins, XP, and clovers while making storage space in your barn. (Remember that while any random visit to the House of Luck to use your clovers might not give you something amazing, overall you are earning “free” rewards and sometimes they are quite significant in value, such as T-cash!)
